Sustainability Tour of the Doubletree Hotel - Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26 - Tours are full; check at registration for any last-minute cancellations. DoubleTree hotel partners with Steritech Group, Inc. They are a pest prevention company that focuses on reducing pesticide usage. They are one of only a handful of pest management companies who have been given the EPA Stewardship awards for their efforts in reducing the use of pesticides. EcoSensitive Pest Prevention is a branded version of "integrated pest management." It is a focus on preventing pest entry so that we don't have to apply pesticides. With the exception of Boric Acid dust, we do not apply pesticides unless a pest is present and the recommendation we have made regarding sanitation and structural issues relating to the pest issues are addressed. Even when pesticides are applied we choose low impact products that we can target to the pests' harborage, rather than indiscriminately apply throughout the facility. Learn more about their IPM strategies during a walking tour of the hotel. Back To Main Page |
